SAR simulation

An end-2-end SAR system simulator is a key tool for all the activities related to the definition and implementation of a SAR mission. Such a tool can be exploited both during mission design and during mission routine operations for different purposes:

  • to perform an end-to-end verification of the mission requirements;

  • to assess the round-orbit system performances;

  • to check the correct definition of all the designed acquisition modes;

  • to perform a fine verification and validation of the SAR processing facilities;

ARESYS has developed a simulation framework, that allows to provide real-scenarios SAR synthetic data, based on an 'abstract' SAR system characterisation interface. This infrastructure gives to the simulation suite the flexibility to simulate a wide range of SAR systems, acquisition modes, dynamic round-orbit paraameters setting for any advanced detailed analysis and optimisation of a modern SAR mission.
