Better algorithms to design friendly technology

Scenario

Sirti, company with a leading role in telecommunication infrastructures, developed an innovative mini-trenching solution, ONEDAYDIG™, that allows reduced realization times, also minimizing the environmental impact for the community. However, Sirti was not able to find a GPR - Ground Penetrating Radar - apparatus that matched the features required for its mini-trenching technology.

Results

ARESYS developed a fully automated GPR processing software, that operates on a multi polarization antenna array (3D GPR), specifically built by IDS. ARESYS strong know-how in algorithm design for exploration geology, along with its experience in high performance computing, allowed to implement a subsoil mapping tool (sGpr) that can process radar data and locate buried utilities, in real-time, on a consumer laptop, and without the need of skilled operators.
A friendly graphical interface allows to analyze buried utilities in 3D maps at a glance while acquiring. Moreover sGpr suite can be used to generate accurate reports of the acquisition campaign, enriched by georeferenced CAD maps, for improved productivity.
